Memories of the Railway
In 2025, we will mark a remarkable milestone—the 200th anniversary of the modern railway, an innovation that connected places, people, communities, and ideas, transforming Britain and the world forever. As part of this national celebration, the ‘Railway 200’ initiative will honour the past, present, and future of rail travel and its lasting impact.
In conjunction with Railway 200, BCCRP and Our Big Picture are excited to launch a new artistic project titled Memories of the Railway, to be showcased at Grimsby Town Train Station. This project will not only celebrate the rich history of the railway but also commemorate Grimsby Town Station’s 180th anniversary.
We invite you to be part of this special journey. Your memories, stories, and reflections will shape and inspire the artwork, making it a collective tribute to the role of the railway in our lives and communities. We want to know what the railway means to you, how it has touched your life, and why it remains important today.

Eligibility: To enter, participants must complete the Our Big Picture / Barton to Cleethorpes Community Rail Partnership (BCCRP) Survey, providing a valid email address and the first letters of their postcode. Open to UK residents.
Prize: One winner will receive a £20 Amazon gift card. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or alternative products.
Entry Period: The competition runs from 9th September 2024 to 1st October 2024. Entries submitted after this date will not be considered.Winner Selection: One winner will be chosen at random from all valid entries. The winner will be notified by email within 7 days of the closing date.
Data Protection: Participants’ personal data (email and postcode) will only be used for the purposes of this competition and will not be shared with third parties.
Disqualification: Incomplete surveys or entries with incorrect details may be disqualified from the competition.
