Jo Shaw, Arts & Heritage Programme Manager, brings over a decade of innovative and creative management experience in the creative arts and cultural educational sector. Jo has a proven track record of coordinating cultural and industry partners to deliver employability provisions and leading award-nominated teams to achieve national curriculum targets.
Paula Denton BA (Hons) CEO
Our Big Picture’s visionary CEO, brings over three decades of creative industry experience. Co-founder of Our Big Picture, she passionately addresses her hometown’s cultural needs, steadfast in her commitment to excellence. Paula collaborates with outstanding partners, propelling positive transformations in the region. Her expertise in arts, heritage, participation, and strategic partnerships is instrumental in Our Big Picture’s dynamic development.
Monica Chatterton MBE, Company Secretary and fundraising lead, has been described as the area’s first Social Entrepreneur. With a passion for the rightful place of young people in their local community, Monica’s 35 years of pioneering work in the voluntary sector includes founding a youth homelessness charity and initiating the first Youthbuild program in the UK. Her dedication to fundraising and empowering young people continues through her role as a founding director of Our Big Picture.
Jonathan Goolden,
Trustee is a partner and solicitor with Grimsby headquartered regional law firm Wilkin Chapman LLP. Both Jonathan’s mother and partner are exhibiting artists and he has a strong interest and commitment to developing cultural, artistic and heritage capital in North East Lincolnshire, including in his role as the Honorary Icelandic Consul of celebrating the long shared maritime and fishing heritage of Grimsby and Iceland.
Karen Watson MBE, Trustee/Vice Chair and co-founder and recently retired creative director of East Street Arts, brings her expertise to help shaping the company’s vision and strategic developments. Passionate about artists’ support, research, and advocacy, Karen spends time on her allotment and engages in various artistic pursuits while being a Leeds United fan.
Dominic Mason, Trustee, trained as an artist and worked in the live music industry before realising his passion for making great art happen through organising exhibitions, commissions, festivals, and events. Leading a team at 20-21 Visual Arts Centre, Dominic is committed to helping art thrive in the Northern Lincolnshire region and transforming lives through creative expression. His involvement with Our Big Picture aims to deliver high-quality contemporary art exhibitions and contribute to the region’s cultural development.
David McLeavy
Trustee Chair and independent curator, writer, and producer based in Sheffield, has a diverse background in projects ranging from producing festivals to leading workshops. With experience in various arts organisations and initiatives, David contributes his expertise to the artistic vision of Our Big Picture, drawing on his extensive involvement in the arts and cultural landscape.
